Diverse communities - one vision

Gateway's mission is to:

1.

Raise the quality of life (health, well-being and prosperity) of local residents in housing need, especially from marginalised groups, many of whom are of Bangladeshi, Somali and other BME origin, through the provision of high quality affordable housing and excellent services.

2.

Champion the building of mixed and sustainable communities within East London.

3.

Challenge inequality, injustice and poverty within housing provision in East London.

Gateway's vision is to:

Provide excellent services (housing and non housing) to all our residents and prospective residents.

2.

Provide excellent housing and services to our vulnerable residents, especially those who may live in sheltered and supported housing schemes.

3.

Provide services which are culturally relevant to all local communities, within the context of aiming for integration and cohesion.

4.

Provide affordable home ownership opportunities for those on below-average incomes.

5.

Be an acknowledged expert in building and sustaining social cohesion and integration within diverse communities.

6.

Campaign for those in greatest housing need, especially where the need is unrecognised or emerging.

7.

Raise the aspirations and life experiences/chances of all our residents and empower them, so that they can fulfil their potential.

8.

Contribute to the wider regeneration of East London.
